The 4th – 13th October LFV group from with representatives from Arlanda airport participated in a DMAN (departure manager) workshop with Linfair EngineeringITMS division in Beijing.
Linfair is currently developing a full scale DMAN for Stockholm-Arlanda airport within the European union funded NUPII+ project. The live trials will be performed mid 2007 and by close cooperation with the operational experts Linfair are developing a third generation DMAN that aims to reduce aircraft taxi times and controller workload whilst increasing the airports overall capacity and creating a more predictable departure flow.
The meeting held in Beijing resulted in a finalized specification and the Swedish LFV representatives Ake Wall and Jan-Olof Roos were very impressed with the output of the workshop. The DMAN can be seen in Arlanda from June next year. Contact Linfair for further information...
